Re-Roofing
If your roof has come to the end of its life and isn't cost efficient to repair or can't be repaired, it may need re-roofing. A full refurbishment of your roof may be needed if any; isolated tiles or slates have slipped, or a couple of lead valleys have worn away, or some ridge tiles are cracked. This will be evident with the presence of leaks or condensation in your attic/loft.
Here at G . Timlin Roofing we can supply a large range of products which include tiles, slates and stone. In the replacement process we use; Grade A tanalised battens, breathable felt, fascia vents and felt support trays underneath your chosen material.
Plastics
Guttering, Fascia's, Barge Boards, Soffits
G . Timlin Roofing can supply you with a whole host of modern fittings, using UPVC to create a clean, weatherproof home that is aesthetically pleasing, on your property such as; guttering, down pipes, fascia boards, barge boards and soffits.
We can replace guttering if you do find yourself in the position of blocked, leaking or damaged guttering. It is important to get them repaired as soon as possible, if you don't it can lead to damaged brickwork and become a costly repair.
Ridge Tiles
Ridge tiles can be maintained by either; patch pointing, complete removal and rebedding and repointing with specialised roofing mortar.
We also offer a Dry Ridge System for longevity of your Ridge Tiles, as this type of ridge tiling doesn't require mortar which has a limited lifespan.
Lead Work
Lead is proven to be a durable building material; it is extremely malleable and can be readily dressed to meet the contours of the roof.
We ensure the correct thickness of lead is used dependent upon its purpose. Lead burning is undertaken for chimney gutterbacks, lead sealant may also be used, which is specifically designed for pointing joints between lead and brickwork.
We apply patination oil to all new lead structures, as it minimises unsightly staining, and imparts a pleasing appearance to newly applied lead.
Chimney Stacks
It is impotant to maintain chimney stacks as this can cause damp entering your property, which may lead to further damage.
Chimney stack work may involve; re flauching, replacing the lead work, repointing the mortar or dropping the chimney stack if it's no longer in use.
It is also important if the chimney is still in use, especially if using a fire or stove, to have the correct chimney pot or cowl insitu.
Velux Windows
A new roof window or replacement of an existing window, is a great way to gain extra light and can be an interesting feature.
Velux offer a great range of windows suitable for your home, which we can fit, together with the correct flashing kit.
There are several types of Velux windows that we can fit; top hung, centre pivot, conservation style, roof terrace, balcony and flat roof kirbed.
Repairs and Maintenance
It is important to maintain the roof and have problems identified and rectified promptly. This is to minimise the damage that could be caused, to keep costs minimum and to prolong the life of your roof.
We can replace damaged plastics with UPVC which provides lower maintenance as well as repairing timber, which can be replaced and primed.
